Evening Session

I went out with Jeff and Charlie from the last session but without the huge contingent of filmers. We hit up Hoover High and it was way more relaxed. Jeff and Charlie actually landed tricks this time, which was nice.

Pretty much the same lighting set up from the previous night session.

Night Sesh!

I went out and took some photos at a night skate session with some people from work. They were filming with some other guys that really don't know skateboarding...at all. Or at least what all is involved in a skate vid. It got annoying after awhile.

The session was killed by various reasons, sprinklers being the straw that broke the camel's back. Nobody landed anything so the session was a wash.

I strobed the stair set with two flashes on pocketwizards. It was difficult with so many people skating and trying different tricks. It was set up for basically one angle. More strobes on different channels would be sweet. You could have one set for one side, and another set on a different transmitter channel for the other.

Grandpa's 90th

Last month the family gathered up in Winthrop, Wash. to celebrate my grandpa's 90th birthday. It was an amazingly fun weekend. Winthrop is a small mountain tourist town in North-central Washington just east of the Cascades.

Cone Series 2

The Cone Series continued.

A second session with the cone. This time in downtown Fresno.

Cone Series

On my birthday about a month ago, I was given a present by a few friends who obviously didn't put much effort into it. The present was an orange construction cone left by a cable company worker who never came back to retrieve it.

The night before my birthday, while drunk, they went on an aggressive search from their respective chairs. Then, Boom! They saw the cone, cleaned it up and gave it to me. My friends said I had to take photos of the cone at different places. I thought this could actually be pretty cool despite their lackluster effort. Thus, the Cone Series was born.

Re-branded and new layout

Well, well, well. Time For Some New Shoes has gone the way of the wind. It lost relevance and it was time for a change - re-branding and new layout. AIG will inevitably have to do the same but for far different reasons. Eh, eh, eh.

This is the start of Fresh Sessions, dedicated to sessions of various natures, whether it be skate, snow, photo, or other. Like TFSNS, Fresh Sessions will primarily be photo oriented. Really, the new name is just tailored to what I've been recently posting. I figured you can only talk about needing new shoes for a limited time before deviating, which is what happened. I finally found a direction and I'm going with it. Hopefully the change will motivate me to post more often too.
